Recently my WM of choice has been xmonad.
Configuring the desktop to my specification has been fun yet sometimes quite tedious as i messed around with the Haskell config (my knowledge of haskell == NULL), dzen2, conky, etc.
Here’s a screenshot from my main xinerama screen:
